At last years Knitting and Stitching show in November I saw a great stand, Hooked by design. After a demonstration on yarn hooking I decided to give it a go, armed with a frame purchased at the show, a hook from Etsy and some lengths of wool. I'm quite pleased with my first attempt.
I drew my design onto hessian, sellotaped the edges and pinned the hessian to the frame. Having watched a few Youtube videos on rug hooking I think I should have sewn the edges to prevent fraying and made a more defined area for the outside my design.
It was slow progress and I pulled back as much as I hooked through, but I might be a little bit addicted to my new woolly crafty skill.
