Luck and Loop has been an idea inside my head for a while. This is my adventure into trying to make my idea into something real. It might just take me a while to get there, but then there's no hurry...
This weekend gave me the chance to have a short few happy moments, crocheting in the sun.
A friend is expecting a baby soon and I've started a variation of an elephant comforter from Inside Crochet for the imminent arrival. The original had rows of ripples, but I've gone for simple stripes instead. I haven't decided yet whether i'll make an elephant or maybe something else for the head, perhaps a mouse...
My little town has been taken over by bicycle fever. The Tour de France will be completing one of its initial stages in Yorkshire and will be travelling through our streets this July.
Yellow bikes, white rose of yorkshire flags, colourful bunting and red spots have been up popping up in lots of unusual places.
Local nursery and school children (including mine) have been decorating bike themed t-shirts, which have been strung up across the market square and across the grounds of the castle. The whole town has been a bit swept away by a yellow fever and I think i'll be a bit sad when race is over and things return to normal.

I've been investing a bit of time in my toy making project and on a recent day out stumbled across a shop which was a treasure trove of lovely vintage bits and bobs. I found a pretty embroidered runner and matching tea cosy, old crochet cotton reel, a wooden bobbin and a beautiful duck egg blue needle packet. Too pretty to leave in the shop, they all came home with me.
My little boy happily put on a dinosaur show (a couple of dinosaurs always come out with us) in the changing room, whilst I searched through small boxes and draws and watched to see what the dinos were up to from the corner of my eye.
The runner makes a very attractive backdrop for my Kate Rabbit, I think. I will be visiting that shop again to see what else I can find and maybe I'll take a couple of dinosaurs with me again for company...
